Description
Winner of the Wagyu Olympics 2017, Satsumagyu currently holds the title of the best Wagyu in the world.
In order to be labelled Satsumagyu, cattles must be born and raised in Kagoshima, Japan, and meet other stringent standards. Because of the strict standards, only an average of 4,000 head of cattle qualify as authentic Satsuma Gyu cattle each year.
Japanese Wagyu is enjoyed by many around the world:
- It is rich in omega-3, omega-6 and essentials monounsaturated fatty acid
- It has higher amount of monounsaturated fats than other meats i.e. ‘heart-healthy fats’.
- Monounsaturated fats can lower LDL cholesterol (the ‘bad’ cholesterol) and increase HDL cholesterol (the ‘good’ cholesterol)
